will visit on the way, was established on and around the river bank in southeast Turkey, and may
be one of the oldest settlements in the world with its 10,000-year history. Hasankeyf and the
surrounding limestone cliffs are home to thousands of man-made caves, 300 medieval
monuments, and a unique canyon ecosystem that creates a seductive open-air museum.
However, the city has been a sunken treasure with archaeological artifacts buried beneath it.
Despite widespread protests from local authorities, archaeologists, architects, conservationists
and environmental groups, following the completion of the massive hydroelectric Ilisu Dam, the
reservoir created by the Dam inundated most of the sites caves and structures and took its place
in the dusty pages of history. From here we will check in to our tour hotel in Mardin.

Assyrian Orthodox Patriarchs for 640 years until 1932, was composed of three floors. The structure
gained its current position in 18th century with the additions that were made in various times beginning
from 5th century. The monastery was built on a structure that was used as a Sun Temple Before
Christian Era and as a castle that was used as Romans. When Romans receded from the region, Mor
Solomon brought the bones of some Saints here and he transformed the castle into monastery. After
